Caller & Cuer Training Grants


   The Foundation for the Preservation and Promotion of Square Dancing (CallerLab):

  • Various Caller Grants for training, scholarships, etc.
  • Up to $350
  • Grants shall be awarded based on the following priorities: need, existing skills, training, intentions, and educational aspects of the event/school. Applicants will possess less than two years of calling experience or youth callers. 

 

   RoundaLab:  Wayne Wylie Scholarship   https://roundalab.org/SCHOLARSHIPS/scholarships2.html

  • Education scholarship for ROUNDALAB members in good standing to attend the ROUNDALAB Convention, approved ROUNDALAB MiniLab or other ROUNDALAB approved education event.
  • Must be a member of ROUNDALAB and may only receive one scholarship.
  • Scholarship amount cannot exceed the registration fee for ROUNDALAB convention.

 

   RoundaLab:  New Round Dance Leader Scholarship

  • Funds new round dance leaders ROUNDALAB membership fees, including licensing and insurance, and initial subscription to the RAL Teaching Video (RTV) library
  • Must be non-ROUNDALAB members pursuing a leadership role in the round dance as teacher and/or cuer and have been active less than 12 months.
  • Scholarship application must be accompanied by a ROUNDALAB membership application.
  • Application deadline is February 1 
  • Winners notified by February 15 and membership starts April 1.


  RoundaLab:  National Education Committee Scholarship Fund

  • Up to four $250.00 scholarships per year for United States round dance cuers and square dance callers to attend educational events such as the ROUNDALAB convention, ROUNDALAB Mini-Lab or private teacher school/college/training session
  • Training event must occur within the calendar year that the scholarship is awarded
  • Scholarship recipients are announced at each year’s National Square Dance Convention
  • In some cases, scholarship can reimburse for a training attended prior to the awarding of the scholarship, but within the same calendar year.
  • Application deadline is December 31 for events in the upcoming calendar year
